Macon, Georgia – The Cherry Blossom Festival is pleased to announce the programming for the 2024 Veterans Day events hosted in Macon-Bibb County from November 9th – 11th, 2024. A portion of the proceeds from our events will benefit the Georgia Veterans Service Foundation, which helps to meet the multitude of needs of veterans living in Georgia through the identification of and prompt referral to trustworthy resources and the financial support of the organizations that are directly serving veterans across the state. “It continues to be a great honor for our organization to support our community and Veterans through our community-minded events. We’re also proud to give back to a foundation that has had a trusted impact for the heroes that live in our area,” Stacy Moore, Festival President & CEO, said. “Having Major General Retired Bob McMahon and his wife, Hope, serving as our Veterans Day event chairs is a huge honor and we appreciate their impeccable guidance and continued support.”

• Veterans Day 5K on November 9th at 8:30 a.m. Join us for a NEW event this year at Middle Georgia State University. Lace up your running shoes and prepare for a beautiful November morning 5K with our community. The price to sign up is $35 until September 30th. On October 1st, the price will be $40. • Veterans Day Parade on November 10th at 3:00 p.m. Make plans to honor our hometown heroes at the Veterans Day Parade in Downtown Macon. Enjoy patriotic-themed floats, military units, marching bands and all of the fun with the community. Applications are open now! • Veterans Day Golf Tournament on November 11th at noon. Back by popular demand, the Veterans Day Golf Tournament will be hosted at River North Country Club. Attendees are in for a treat with a fun day on the course. It is $1,000 per team of four with a four-man scramble. Lunch and an official tournament polo will be provided.
